Every once in a while I need to get out of the "art in a rectangle" format and explore other possibilities.  Even though paper is flat, it has multi-faceted attributes.   It is fragile yet tough; it is beautiful; it is accessible.  Today we have hand made papers from around the world at our disposal.  The installation in this exhibit explores the three dimensionality of paper, (torn edge, cut edge, and layers); in order to echo the pattern and flow of moving water in winter.   It is part of my ongoing series of “cut drawings.”

Winter River 2- cut, black and white Kozo paper, 15 ft x 31in
Cut Drawing #2" - cut Sudare Lace and black Kozo, 48 x 36in.
